We woke up this morning to 15 degrees and a light wind. I think that put the wind chill factor somewhere around zero. On mornings like this it's especially wonderful to cozy up to the wood stove and cook breakfast. Here the last two pancakes sizzle away on the griddle, tilted at an angle to keep it cool on one end and hot on the other (see the smoke rising over the hot part of the stove!). I love my old Monarch. I have a modern stove as well, but the wood stove is wonderful on a cold winter morning.
