January always finds me casting nets into the coming year and clearing debris (on several levels!) from the prior one. This year I spent time clearing clutter in my studio. This lovely mantle and dresser usually has a variety of projects piled on it in various stages of completion. After I cleared it off and re-organized the drawers, I left it bare for a couple of weeks as a symbol of a fresh start. Two days ago I put it to use again - this time covering it with piles of seed packets to sort through as I get ready for summer gardens....
