Linen

I love catching a glimpse through the screen door of a gentle breeze stirring my linen table cloths. I used to put colored vintage cloths on my porch tables until Irealized that in one brief summer, the colors faded dramatically (they were still pretty, just faded!). Then one day I found a small white linen table cloth at my local flea market. Suddenly I realized I could leave my table cloths outside day in and day out because the sun could only bleach them whiter! Of course, the sun will shorten their life as well, but since they were inexpensive and in less than perfect shape to begin with, it seems to me a happy use for them.
