Spring Snow

Last weekend we had two beautiful, sunny days. It was close to 60 degrees and the air was fresh and still. It was a perfect time to work on the fence around the chicken garden.

But by Wednesday morning we woke up to snow! As my Uncle Bob used to say "it's springtime in the Rockies". By afternoon the snow had melted and my gardens happily soaked up the much needed moisture.

It's been a dry winter and the snowpack in the mountains is only about 52% of average. Could be a bad fire year......though I keep hoping it will rain off and on all summer and spare us weeks of thick, acrid smoke.....
