Thunderstorm

Night before last I sat out on the porch while a thunderstorm rolled overhead. Rain pelted down and thunder and lightening were dramatic. It continued to rain into the night after the storm passed. I woke the next morning to soft air and damp ground. A welcome relief after several weeks of hot, dry weather. As an old timer neighbor once said "Nature is the best irrigator". It's so true. Sprinklers are no match Mother Nature. Later that day two different friends remarked on how it felt like every living creature was sighing with relief. It seems like everyone was resting inwardly. Today remains overcast and cooler. It's lovely to have the doors and windows open and fresh air moving through the house.
