Yesterday I glanced outside and saw a hawk sitting in front of the living room window just two feet off the ground. I wondered what in the world he was doing there. At first I thought he might be injured but as I watched him he seemed perfectly fine. He glanced around in all directions and preened himself a bit. There had been a bird murder earlier in the day very near where he was perched. One of my cats managed to catch a finch under the bird feeder. I wondered whether the hawk's visit had anything to do with a disturbance in the Bird Kingdom. A naturalist would probably tell me otherwise....but who knows???
