Rain

After weeks of grey skies, 45 degrees, a relentless wind, and the earth as dry as dust....we have rain. Skies are still grey, the wind still tends to blow.....but temperatures are inching into the 50s and 60s, and the sun has made brief appearances. The earth is finally getting a drink.

My lilacs still haven't bloomed.......and yesterday an iris bravely poked her nose out of her green cape to test the weather. A few of her sisters joined her today. Perhaps my reluctant flowers will decide to bloom despite our winter like conditions....
