Strawberries

Strawberries are perhaps my favorite summer taste. Maybe because they are the first burst of incredible fruit flavor each year. We have had endless problems in the vegetable gardens this year....but the fruit set is amazing. We had no frost in the late spring when so many vines, bushes and trees were setting their fruit. Everything is heavily laden and beautiful. The strawberries were no exception, more prolific and lush than I've ever seen them. We picked the last of them over a week ago and filled the freezer with delicious strawberry jam.
